  • Mango butter: Largely made of oleic acid and stearic acid. Provides for hardness to our soap bar when combined with hard butter like shea or coca butter. Comes from the fruit kernels of the mango tree.
  • Shea butter: High in nutrients like vitamins A, E, fatty acids and minerals. Provides for a soft texture and long-lasting soap bar.

Lye and Water: We use purified water that has gone through a meticulous distillation process. We use Caustic Soda or Sodium Hydroxide (known as Lye). We combined the two to produce our alkali base. Once our alkali base is combined with our blend of oils and fats it creates a chemical reaction called saponification.  Saponification is the conversion of a fat or oil and an alkali into soap and glycerin. Lye will dissolve during the saponification process, turning oils and butters into soap.

Botanicals, Herbs & Flowers: We may use clays, roots, seeds, fruit, vegetable or plants in powder, ground, or dried format to give our soaps their colors and textures. Examples:

  • Clays: Brazilian purple, white or pink kaolin, Australian green, French yellow or pink, bentonite, etc.
  • Powders: aloe vera, chamomile, rosehips, orange peel, kelp, coconut shell, activated charcoal, spirulina, annatto, paprika, alkanet, turmeric root, purple sweet potato powder, etc.
  • Dried flowers: calendula, chamomile, lavender, etc.
  • Seeds: cranberry, poppy.
  • Others: honey powder, coconut milk, salts, citric acid.

Essential Oils: Our soaps may be scented with pure natural essential oils. We mostly use eucalyptus, frankincensejasmine, lavender, lemon, niaouli, orange, rosemary, tea-tree, vanilla and ylang ylang.

Sodium Lactate: Sodium Lactate is the sodium salt of natural L (+) lactic acid made by the fermentation of sugar. It helps to produce a harder and smooth bar of soap that lasts longer in the shower. Sodium lactate also makes our cold process soap easy to unmold!
